Asset Engineer, you will maintain the technical availability of
assigned assets as well as for maintenance/reliability activities,
investment planning and execution to ensure regulatory compliance
regarding inspection and obligations in area of responsibility.
Major Responsibilities
- Accountable to develop, implement and evergreen the reliability
strategy for their area of responsibility & align the reliability
targets with the business targets of the Business Unit
- Responsible for plant maintenance to ensure production output
and maintenance cost targets are met & improved; responsible to
participate in the development maintenance budget in area of
responsibility; accountable for maintenance budgets in their
assigned cost centers .
- Responsible for ensuring shutdown and turn-around scope align
with the asset management strategy for the unit and best-known
engineering practices.
- Responsible for scope definition and accountable for technical
acceptance of plant modifications, from the reliability
perspective, which can include small projects and mid-size/large
projects, as appropriate .
- Pursue troubleshooting , failure analysis, scoping of more
complex problems and handoff to defect elimination . Leads Root
Cause Failure Analysis on mechanical failures
- Accountable to maintain and safeguard the as-built plant
documentation standards in their area.
- Accountable for Management of Change and the subsequent
modifications to the assets . Contributes to HAZOP's and unit
specific H ealth Safety and Environmental (HSE) issues.
- Works independently, advises, and influences technical and
business matters, responsible for development, maintenance and
vitality of essential technologies and processes . Demonstrates
application and decision-making in technical work processes with
comprehensive knowledge of techniques methods and best practices
WHAT YOU OFFER Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or
related degree with 6+ years' experience OR
- Master's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or
related degree with 4+ years' experience OR
- PhD in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related degree
with 2+ years' experience
- The eligibility to apply for and obtain a Transportation Worker
Identification Credential (TWIC) within a reasonable timeframe
Preferred Qualifications
- Rotational assignment completed in job function or area of
responsibility/different production train
- Six-Sigma Green Belt Certification
- Advanced knowledge of the manufacture of Aromatic Isocyanates
and related derivatives and intermediates
- Highly skilled in work planning and management for reliability
work involving toxic chemicals ( i.e., Phosgene CO , Cl2, and
NH3.)
- Broad Knowledge of phosgene safety concepts - Knowledge &
Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of application and decision making in
reliability procedures/work processes ( i.e., planning, scheduling,
execution)
- Comprehensive knowledge of reliability methods and techniques
and best practices (including but not limited to vessel repair,
lifting techniques, corrosion abatement, welding, vibration
analysis, instrumentation, motor drive troubleshooting, and
precision maintenance.)
- Comprehensive knowledge of reliability work Processes to ensure
license to operate as well as to improve mechanical reliability and
Facility Asset Management cost ( i.e., mechanical integrity, asset
strategy management, failure mode effects analysis, defect
elimination and continuous Improvement) . Possesses comprehensive
knowledge of techniques, methods, and best practices to support
this work . - i.e., non-destructive inspection technologies (Iris,
Shear-Wave, Ultrasound), asset management systems, autonomous
maintenance, calibration and preventative maintenance, predictive
maintenance, corrosion abatement, application of engineering
standards, etc .
- Advanced Knowledge of procedures/work processes ( i.e., process
hazard analysis, pressure safety, management of change, pre-startup
safety reviews).
- Extensive knowledge of the effects of unit process conditions
on mechanical reliability - i.e., reliability operating parameters/
windows/conditions; process chemistry.
- Broad Knowledge of the capital process including but not
limited to scoping, estimating, business case development, FEL 0, 1
+ 2 with a comprehensive knowledge of techniques, methods, and best
practices for the management of capital investments. -
- Deep Knowledge of the concepts for maintaining process
components such as but not limited to fixed and rotating equipment,
process control devices and with greater area and with a
comprehensive knowledge of related techniques, methods and best
practices - for example Troubleshooting/Repair selection of
technology and/or materials of construction.
- Advanced knowledge in obtaining and analyzing data from tools
and systems used in Covestro ( i.e., SAP , Meridium, Documentum,
OSIsoft- PI )
- A bility to ensure application and compliance with HSEQ
policies and procedures while performing engineering
activities.
- -Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead unit and
