Powergen ControlsPowergen Controls is an engineering service
provider and OEM manufacturer specializing in power generation and
power distribution control systems. We are seeking a Field Service
Technician to join our dynamic team. This position involves up to
80% travel (MondayFriday, home most weekends)ideal for individuals
who thrive on new experiences and enjoy working in diverse
locations. About the Role This is not an entry level job. We are
looking for someone with at least 2 years of experience in the
industry As a Field Service Representative, you will be responsible
for troubleshooting, maintaining, and commissioning power
generation and power distribution control systems across the
country. You will work both independently and as part of a
collaborative team, ensuring projects are completed safely, on
time, and to the highest technical standards. Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and control
systems. Wire industrial control panels, switchboards, and MCCs.
Perform field commissioning and startup activities. Connect to PLCs
and HMIs for downloading, uploading, and remote troubleshooting.
Perform basic mechanical repairs in the field (e.g., fixing hinges,
repairing screw threads for door covers, touch-up paint, small
hardware adjustments). Document all site activities: weekly
timesheets, signed Field Service Reports, and project update
emails. Update client electrical drawings in AutoCAD (one-lines,
schematics, diagrams). Communicate clearly with project managers,
clients, and team members. Adhere to all company, industry, and
client safety standards. Stay current with safety and technical
training requirements. Ideal Candidate Qualities Proficient in
English (Spanish is a plus). Familiar with PLC and HMI software
tools (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or equivalent) for program
connection and troubleshooting. This position requires a Bachelor's
degree or documentable experience with advance math concepts with
strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Flexible and
adaptable in a dynamic work environment. Safety-focused and
