Job Description:

Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: One year of ICU
experience preferred. Description: Candidates may not have been
directly employed by any facility associated with the organization
within the past year. Candidates who were employed through outside
firms will be considered. Registered Nurses must pass the Advanced
Dysrhythmia exam with an 83% before signing the contract. They will
have three attempts to pass. Call outs are strongly discouraged and
may lead to termination. Floating between campuses may be required
as needed. The unit has 12 beds with a typical census of 6-8
patients. Nurse to patient ratios are 1:2 in ICU and 1:4 in PCU.
Common diagnoses include cardiac issues, abdominal surgery,
orthopedic surgery, sepsis, overdose, COVID, and general surgery.
Knowledge of critical care drips is required. Registered Nurses are
expected to read their own telemetry strips. Telemetry monitors
used are Nihon Koden. Scheduling is typically done 4 weeks in
advance. Weekend requirements are 4 shifts per month. Expectations
for holidays include working to meet unit needs. There is a
possibility of being placed on call for low census; however,
efforts are made to ensure travelers receive their hours. Scrub
color for uniforms is navy, with undershirts also in navy. Optional
scrub jackets must be navy. The unit has a supportive team-oriented
environment. Cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts to be
canceled for a 13-week assignment. The charting system used is
MEDHOST - Enterprise.
