Job Description Job Description The Health, Safety, and
Environmental (HSE) Director is responsible for overseeing the
development, implementation, and management of the company's
health, safety, and environmental policies. The HSE Director
ensures that the organization complies with all regulatory
requirements and maintains a safe and healthy workplace for all
employees. Candidates MUST be local to the Houston, TX area( Near
Hobby Airport) for the interview process and work environment. Key
Responsibilities and Performance Expectations: Policy Development
and Implementation Tasked with developing comprehensive HSE
policies that align with both local and international regulations.
These policies must address various aspects of health, safety, and
environmental protection, ensuring that they are current and
effective in mitigating risks. Develop and implement HSE policies
and procedures. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal
regulations. Regularly review and update HSE policies to reflect
changes in regulations or the organizational structure. Communicate
policies to all employees and ensure understanding and adherence.
Quality Management Develop and implement quality standards and
processes to ensure consistent product or service excellence. Lead
and manage quality assurance teams, providing guidance and training
to staff. Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and
industry best practices. Analyze data and metrics to identify
trends, areas for improvement, and root causes of quality issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations,
production, and management, to drive quality initiatives. Oversee
internal and external audits, addressing findings and implementing
corrective actions. Communicate quality goals and performance
results to senior leadership and stakeholders. Promote a culture of
continuous improvement throughout the organization. Risk Management
Identifying potential hazards and implementing strategies to
minimize which involves conducting regular risk assessments,
analyzing data, and developing risk mitigation plans. Develop and
implement risk mitigation strategies. Monitor and evaluate the
effectiveness of risk management strategies. Ensure proper
documentation and reporting of risk assessments and incidents.
Training and Development Responsible for developing training
programs and ensuring that all staff members receive the necessary
education to perform their duties safely. Ensure that training
materials are up-to-date and relevant to current policies and
regulations. Track and document employee training and
certifications. Promote a culture of continuous learning and
improvement in HSE practices. Incident Management and Investigation
Lead the response to HSE incidents and emergencies Conduct thorough
investigations to determine root causes. Develop and implement
corrective and preventive actions. Ensure proper documentation and
reporting of incidents. Communicate findings and lessons learned to
the organization. Compliance and Reporting Ensure compliance with
all relevant HSE regulations and standards. Maintain accurate and
up-to-date records of HSE activities. Prepare and submit required
reports to regulatory agencies. Coordinate with regulatory bodies
during inspections and audits. Competencies: Leadership : The
Safety Director must exhibit strong leadership skills to guide and
inspire the safety team and influence all employees to prioritize
safety in their daily activities. Behavioral Based: The director
demonstrates strong behavioral-based attributes by consistently
modeling integrity, accountability, and adaptability in all
safety-related initiatives. Through effective communication,
empathetic leadership, and decisive action, the director inspires
confidence and trust throughout the organization, fostering an
environment where safety is a shared responsibility and continuous
improvement is embraced. Communication : Effective communication is
essential for the Safety Director to convey safety policies,
procedures, and training to all levels of the organization, as well
as to listen to and address safety concerns from employees.
Strategic Thinking : The ability to develop and implement long-term
safety strategies that align with the organization’s goals and
regulatory requirements is critical. Technical Expertise:
Proficiency in safety management systems, risk assessment tools,
and safety-related software is necessary to effectively analyze and
manage safety data. Adaptability : The Safety Director must be
flexible and able to adapt to changing safety regulations, new
technologies, and evolving workplace hazards. Collaboration :
Working effectively with other departments, external agencies, and
management to promote a unified approach to safety is essential.
Decision-Making: The ability to make informed, timely decisions in
emergency situations and during routine safety operations is
crucial for maintaining a safe work environment. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental
Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is
preferred. Professional certifications such as Certified Safety
Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or
similar credentials. At least 10 years of experience in HSE roles,
with a track record of progressively increasing responsibility.
Experience in the industry relevant to the organization (e.g.,
manufacturing, construction, energy, chemicals). Proven experience
in managing HSE programs and leading teams. Strong knowledge of HSE
regulations and standards. Excellent leadership and management
skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Strong
analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work under
pressure and handle emergencies calmly. Proficiency in using HSE

Travel: Must be accessible at all times and willing to travel a
